On December 14, 2024, a memorable day took place in the Auditorium of the Santa Apollonia Complex in Florence, marking a milestone .
The Italian session of the 2024 Academic Year was enthusiastically attended by students, faculty, families, and academic representatives from around the world.
The Morning Program
The event began at 8:00 a.m. with a speech by the Rector, Professor Torello Lotti, who emphasized the importance of academic education as a tool for creating a fairer and more sustainable global society.
At 8:15 a.m., the solemn awarding of bachelor’s degrees followed—an emotional moment for the students, whose commitment and academic journeys were recognized.
At 10:00 a.m., the prestigious ceremony for the awarding of the following diplomas took place:
- Honorary Bachelor’s Degrees, conferred upon distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to knowledge and raising awareness of critical societal issues.
- Honorary Doctorates, awarded to renowned international academics.
- Academic Awards, given to lecturers and researchers who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their fields.
Then, at 11:00 a.m., the international doctoral diplomas were conferred, highlighting students from various countries and powerfully showcasing Unitelematica’s global commitment.
At 11:30 a.m., the awarding of bachelor’s degrees resumed, accompanied by enthusiasm and emotion, continuing until 12:45 p.m., when pre-scheduled speeches by the Academic Senate were delivered.
The morning concluded at 1:00 p.m. with the official closing of the Italian session of the 2024 Academic Year, leaving all in attendance with a sense of pride and gratitude.
